description The successful applicants will be expected to: Contribute to the
core teaching of LUC Contribute specialist teaching to more advanced students
Contribute to the tutorial system that characterises our college system Develop
personal and team (including undergraduate) research projects Participate in and
contribute to the social and academic life of LUC Requirements Candidates should
hold a PhD degree or equivalent. Preference will be given to candidates with: A
PhD in an interdisciplinary field related to 'Global Challenges' in the
contexts of the Majors offered at LUC.  In 2011, we have a preference for:
Development Studies Ecology or Environmental Science History (especially
historiography) Social Sciences (especially quantitative methods) Superior
command of English Knowledge of Chinese, Arabic, French or Spanish will be an
advantage An interest in and enthusiasm for the concept of Liberal Arts &
Sciences education at university level Excellent social and professional skills
Outstanding research qualities manifest in a high-quality PhD thesis or
equivalent Conditions of employment LUC The Hague offers four fulltime
(38hrs/week) Assistant Professor positions
