burnetii, the causative agent of Q-fever'
Info PhD student to investigate the host immune response to infection with
Coxiella burnetii, the causative agent of Q-fever Job description The
Netherlands are facing the biggest Q-fever epidemic ever world-wide. Major gaps
in our knowledge of how this bacterium evades the immune system of humans and
goats (the most important animal vector) remain to be answered, but are
essential for designing new diagnostic tests and therapies. The PhD student will
investigate which pathogen recognition receptors (PRRs) recognise Coxiella
in-vitro and which intracellular signalling pathways are activated after
recognition of Coxiella.
